Memories!!!

“Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.”

I remember it like yesterday……….when simple things meant most to me, a world where every day was a new adventure, playing with dolls and teddies and a summer visit to grandma's (Nani’s) house. My childhood is packed with memories of events and activities that have touched my life. These events have shaped me into a person that I am today. I, along with my younger sister and younger brother lived in world of imagination as children.

When I was a child all I wanted to do was be an adult or act like an adult. In all the games I acted like someone older than me like- a teacher or a mum or a doctor. I still remember the laxness of the holidays and the shyness when my childhood hero would be near. When playing outside I was always the one hiding, not the one searching.   My best friend and I were always the experienced hiders.   We had the best hiding places and spent our free time collecting all crazy things and hiding them from other friends.  My friends and I were the neighborhood and could play hide and seek and Cops & Robbers for hours on end.

Further I would always remember my grandparents spoiling. I look back at my experience through elementary and secondary school as the best days of my life. Everything was so simple and easy when we are young. The only problem I had was to finish my homework so that I can go and watch my favorite cartoon on TV. Being young was also a very magical time. Toys would become very personal friends and confidants.

I have wonderful memories of my childhood and i m sure you all have same .....but what ruins this all for me is when I look at the conditions in which some children are being brought up, I m afraid what will be their memories of childhood? Will they be as beautiful as mine?? Will they ever want to remember their childhood as adults ? Don't they deserve to have bright memories of the best time of life?? Why is destiny partial to them??

I don't have answers to these questions but I think these questions matter.

Don't they!!!

Speak up your mind...waiting  for your thoughts!!!

Girls Hate It!!

This week my mailbox was full with request from boys, they all wanted me to write about “ways to impress a girl!”

Although there are no such rules and guidelines to make a girl fall for you..but certainly there are things which you should not do,  things which all girls hate. You must understand that each and every girl is special and unique and hence has different tastes and thinking patterns. So, I must warn you that not all of the things mentioned here will hold true for your girl.

  • First of all girls hate spineless guys - those who have no strength of character. They don't hate jobless guys if, you are struggling towards achievement of a goal, your girl will always support you. But if you are the one who's not willing to work-they definitely don't like you.
  • No girl likes to be ignored. You need to make them feel special and important. It's not like that they want you to leave everything and run behind them. Just ask them politely that you have work and they will understand, but this doesn't mean that you ignore your girl to enjoy sports with your buddies.
  • One important point about the things girls hate about guys is– their friends! Yes! Girls hate their boyfriend's buddies. Because guys tend to act like complete idiots when they are with their guy-friends. Girls don't mind guys spending time with their friends as long as the friends don't start hogging all the time and attention.
  • Girls absolutely cannot stand their man ogling at other girls and yes… it really doesn't make the ogling any less annoying if you do it behind their back. Sooner or later, she will find out! Girls hate it when guys try and justify things with lame reasons like “ I was just looking", "We were only talking", a girl will know when you are talking to another girl with ulterior motives.
  •  Boys! Girls know you are different from them. So, please don't try to be one of them. A very sensitive guy can often be perceived as gay. So, quit trying to discuss the new Chanel line of perfumes or shoes.
  • Girls hate it when guys lack respect for them – be it their family, their job, their hobby or their fashion sense. Girls like guys who know how to respect them, because of the simple principle "If he can't respect me, he can't love me".
  • Hygiene is an issue that most girls are very sensitive about. A man without basic sense of hygiene and etiquette is an absolute no-no.

So, there you go. You have a list of things that girls hate about guys. Just love your girl instead of judging her. Pamper her but don't smother her, respect her but don't be her pet, give her enough time end space and you will get yours, treat her right and she will be yours forever.

Who needs Moral Policing???

Remember the Mangalore Pub attack? Or incident when in Meerut some policemen went on a rampage, and beat up a few couples? Such policing now days can be seen in every corner of country from the legislative assemblies to streets, from court rooms to cinemas and from gardens to police station. In country like India where all religions are respected and every individual has a right to live according to their own will - How can handful of people randomly barge into any public place and terrorize people and lecture them on the issue of morality?

They lay down moral guidelines which even the Constitution of India does not touch upon. And even have their own cadre of cops – the so called moral police – whose aim is to uproot elements of Western culture from the society and restore pure Indian ones. There are Sri Ram Sena or the Shiv Sena or the Bajrang Dal who demonstrate their love for ‘Indian culture by molesting girls wearing jeans and vandalizing Valentine's Day celebrations .

I wonder since when did assaulting women and to make them toe the line become part of Indian culture? And when asked about this a Sri Ram Sena follower said that he was only trying to teach the girls a lesson and his actions should be seen no more than a brotherly act towards a wayward sister…..God save us from such brothers!!!  But it is worst to see women officers manhandle girls found in parks with their partners.

The bigger question here is - Who gives the moral police the right to police? They have absolutely no right to curb the freedoms and choices of other citizens of a free country. Even if a person is breaking the law – there is a way to address it and to a situation where no law is being broken and everybody is having a good time, it is none of their business to create problems and scream “save culture”.

I believe such people create a negative image of Indian Culture and this simply creates more problems to the already existing long list…..!!!!

DREAMS

Dreams……The picture of your imagination, aspiration, accomplishment and stuff of which life, hope, fun and love are made. All great things are born in dreams. Dreams are to be believed in, to be nurtured and to be respected so that one day you can turn them into reality. Someone has very wisely said

“Reach your Dreams and they will reach you!”

Start visualizing, not what is possible or probable rather what is impossible.  And by visualizing the impossible you will begin to see it as possible and start thinking what nobody has ever thought and that will lead you to your     self- created “MIRACLE”!

Don't worry whether you believe in miracles or not, just remember MIRACLES happen every day like sunrise….

Just believe in yourself and your dream and pray for power equal to your dream not dream equal to your power!!

For away the sunshine you see is your aspiration, you may not reach it, but you can look up and see it and try to follow where it leads…….These are your dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe in them and bring them to light.

Have a dreamy day!!!!!

Are you the reason of your sadness?

“I'm angry!”

“I'm getting irritated!”

“You are just pissing me off!”

“I hate this world!”

Yes, I can read your mind.

Think!!

Aren't these the most commonly used words by all of us?

Annoyance, anger, enmity, hatred, vexation, stress, irritation and all the other synonyms of sad emotions overpower us all the time.

But why is this so?

Why is there no day in our life when just happiness is all we have on our mind?

Why don't we feel like just laughing crazily and making others laugh with us?

But the vice-versa is always a big YES for us. We want world to cry when we are sad. If we are crying today we swear to make world cry one day.

Don't we.

Till when will we keep on watering the plant of sadness inside us. Stop it! Stop it now!!

Don't hurt yourself with your own ever growing expectations. Searching for happiness is such a waste of time and energy because happiness is inside you. Just open up your heart and let yourself float in the ocean of exuberance.

Think!!!

And

Smile!!!

Here's d first one..My FourthValentine day

Sitting today far from you,
Wat I realized was all new.
Fourth Valentine of our Love,
is not the way i thought it to.

Week ago i was sad and low,
to d thought of being away from u.
My mind was filled wid gloomy thoughts,
tears from eyes grilled up my heart.

Nature was my mate in pain,
God cried up there as rain.
Darkness lighted up my veins,
rain ashed away sick thoughts frm my brain.

Dream dat night showed me d way,
I saw a sparrow picking up d hay.
Far frm its home in d plains of bay,
her heart was still waiting for d may.
Time came when she flew away,
back to her place wid all d gay.

I woke up wid a smiling face,
and ran outside wid a strong pace.
Sun was shining bright at me,
My mind was out of cryptic maze.
Waves of happiness traveled my heart,
clearing d purpose of us being apart.

Cupid winked at me frm d heaven,
saying dis valentine is for a reason.
I saw a Halo up in front of my vision,
blessing me wid u as valentine for all coming seasons.

Ice-Breaking !!
